Manheim, Texas is located in Lee County on State Highway 21. Manheim (pronounced "Mon-heim") was founded by Adolf Waschmann, who named the community after his parent's hometown in Germany. Adolf established a post office in 1900 and served as the only postmaster. He also ran the town's general store, cotton gin, real estate office, and saloon.
