The Story
This abandoned gas station's canopy is no longer standing. After years of being on tilt, the elements finally managed to bring the canopy completely down in 2020. Located near the Pecos River between Comstock, Texas, and Langtry, Texas, the canopy was damaged sometime in 2013, and the angle of the tilt had changed slightly as time progressed.
Before 1957, traffic would pass by this gas station to cross the Pecos River canyon using the low bridges that would often wash out from periodic floods. The gas station appears to have closed sometime in the late 90s or early 2000s.
