The Story

Chartered in 1856, this is the lodge's third location, in Beaukiss, Texas, and it was built in 1909, according to a Taylor Daily Press newspaper article from Christmas 1949.

The lodge, established in Post Oak Island, was moved to Lawhon Springs previously. Those locations shared much of the same original building disassembled and moved when the railroad came to the area but did not go through Post Oak Island.

Today it's hard to imagine tearing down a building and moving it piece by piece to be close to transit! What do you think?
