Welcome to Lincoln, Texas
Once A Shipping Point For Nearby Communities.
Lincoln, Texas, 8 miles northwest of Giddings in Lee County, is located on State Highway 21. The settlement, named for John A. Lincoln, a circuit-riding preacher, began before the Civil War. A post office opened in 1886 and continues to serve zip code 78948 today. It seems that the post-war migration to cities led to Lincoln's decline.
