The Crossroads Of Texas.
Evant, Texas is located in Coryell County on US Highway 84. Evant considers itself found at "The Crossroads of Texas" due to its proximity to Austin, Dallas, and Waco. Once a thriving farming community, Evant had three general stores, a hotel, a gristmill, a cotton gin, and 120 residents by the start of the 1900s. The town's population peaked in the 1950s.

Evant Frozen Food Locker
Even after the icebox became commonplace after WWII, Frozen Food Lockers had remained the only way anyone could freeze an entire animal and store it.
